LonWorks® is a network platform created by Echelon for Motorola's NEURON® circuits. The network is e.g. used in so-called smart houses and office buildings for controlling ventilation, heating, admittance, lighting, etc. The network can be extended from 2 to 32 000 nodes (connections). Each segment is capable of handling 64 nodes and a distance of 400 metres without any amplifiers. This cable is also suitable for audio and data use. It is halogen-free. Type 7703NH and 7704NH have Beldfoil® shield that provides 100% shielding.
